The Duces and the Magic Diamonds

The Duces and the Magic Diamonds

Once upon a time, a husband and a wife lived in a town.  They owned a very expensive jewelry store in the middle of the town.  Mr. and Mrs. Duce were both fat as pigs, rich as bishops, and as repulsive as trolls.  They did not think they were ugly or fat but knew they were rich.
The Duces lived separately.  Mrs. Duce slept upstairs while Mr. Duce slept downstairs because somebody had told them they couldn’t both be upstairs together for too long.  Their combined weight was too much for the second floor to support them.  The shop below would be crushed by them.  When they heard these words they kicked the person out.
They ate the magical diamonds as food. Lee made and sold it to them.  (Lee was the old, skinny, and wrinkly chef for the town.  Lee only sold these diamonds to the Duces. Also Lee cooked for everyone in town.)  When they were eating the magical diamonds, they became fatter.
The only time the Duces lost any weight was when they pooped.  Depending on what kind of poop came out, different jewelry was “made.”  They “produced” rings, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings in this way.  They can make designs by looking at a picture while they are “making” the jewelry.
The people in the town did not know about the magic diamonds or about how their jewelry was made.  Lee knew about all of this.
One day a handsome prince with short brown hair came into the jewelry store asking for a diamond ring to be made so he can propose to his love, the princess.  He told them the design and size that he wanted.  He also told them it needed to be made with platinum.  Mrs. Duce told the prince that it would be almost impossible to get a platinum ring with the design he requested.  The prince said, “Aren’t you jewelers? Aren’t you supposed to be able to craft it?”  Mr. Duce replied, “We can get the job done but, we need a lot of money and time.”  The prince did not care how much it would cost but he needed it in a week.  He left the shop feeling unsure if they could get it done.
Now they had to buy lots of magic diamonds from Lee.  Luckily, Lee had a houseful of it.  So, the Duces began eating diamonds and getting fatter.  Golden rings were coming out of them but no platinum.  Some were the correct design or the correct size but none were both.
On the last day before the prince came back, the platinum ring was “made.”  A miracle! It came out the right size and had the design but, by this time, they both tripled their weight and the house was full of dung.
When the prince entered the shop, he exclaimed, “What a horrible smell you have here!”  The Duces just kept silent.
Mrs. Duce handed him the ring and the prince gave them more then enough money to supply them for life.  The Duces just slept, ate and sold their jewelry shop to buy a bigger home.
The strong handsome prince married the beautiful princess and they lived happily, ever after.

Skylanders

Skylanders Spyro's Adventure is a video game that has these action figures that come to life! What you need is either a Wii, PS3, 3DS, or Xbox360 to play the game. If you want, you can try the online game at skylanders.com or buy the game. I have the 3DS, PC, and Wii versions and the story lines are different. The game costs $70 regularly but it is on sale at most places for $50. The game comes with three different Skylanders. The figures you use have a brain of their own, and you can use one figure in one game and have the memory saved on the figure. I LOVE this game and hope to get most of the Skylanders. The game is easy for me to find, but the individual figures are very hard to get. There are eight different elements: fire, water, magic, tech, air, undead, earth, and life( grass). The story is about a portal master named Eon who defended the world of Skylands. The Skylanders are the ones who protect the Skylands. One day, Eon failed to win a battle, so he became a floating head and the Sklanders were sent to Earth. The bad guy (name changes in each game) thought Earth was the worst place, so that is why he sent them here. I won't spoil to much, but when you get the game you are the new portal master. I will give the game a 10 out of 10. It has a few things I think they should have taken out, but other than that it is great. The individual figures costs from $7-$8 plus tax. It sounds like a very expensive game to get, but it is worth it.

Zombies

I don't know how many of you watch "Walking Dead", but it is a good zombie show.
If you have a question about zombies, I will try to respond.

Zombies are mindless ugly "beasts" that want to eat your brain and flesh! Most of you would pick a gun as a weapon or some lethal weapon. I have some good and bad news on what you might pick. If you pick a gun, while there is a zombie apocalypse going on, no one is making any ammo for you to use. If you pick a melee weapon, it could get stuck in the zombie or if you miss, the zombie can bite/claw you. Here is something that I hope you remember during a battle with a zombie,
1. Aim for the head (brain) and
2. Don't just hit them once, hit them again just in case to make sure they are dead.

Now, the real question is "Do you believe in zombies?"; and if you do, will you kill yourself because you don't want to live in a world with zombies?

P.S. What weapon or plan will you have if all this is true?

"New" Violin!

I got a "new" violin. My mom got it for my early birthday present. For those who don't know how long I've been playing, it has been about 4 years now. I love playing the violin; it is hard and fun. On your left is a picture of my "new" violin and my old bow. On your right is a hygrometer which is on my violin case. It tells me how humid the inside of my case is; if it is too humid, my violin will go out of tune.

Hatchet by Gary Paulsen

Hatchet, by Gary Paulsen, is a fictional adventure book that takes place in a forest in Canada. The illustrated 20th anniversary edition is 188 pages. Hatchet is about a boy named Brian Robeson going to Canada to see his dad. His mom gives him a hatchet because it might help him where his dad works. During his flight, the pilot gets a heart attack and dies. Brian is now by himself, because it is a two-seater plane. He crashes in a lake. He needs to find food, help, and make a fire. While he makes shelter and finds berries, he encounters many different animals. One animal scares him. He throws his hatchet and it makes a spark on his cave wall, which gives him the idea of how to make a fire.

Later, he figures out how to catch fish with a spear, which he made with his hatchet. While Brian is looking for good wood for a bow, he hears a motor. He runs back and takes some of his fire and puts it on his bonfire; but, he is too late and the plane leaves. Brian makes a bow using his shoelace as the string. Now that he has a bow, he hunts for meat. He finds small birds, but he cannot see them until they fly off. They have great camouflage, so by the time he attacks, the bird is gone. Brian figures out a way to see the bird and attack it before it flies off. After he finds food, shelter, and fire, a big tornado hits the forest. Everything is destroyed. Now, it is two months since the plane crash.

This book got me thinking about if I am in the wild, will there be mosquitoes and food out there. I like the way he rethinks every single thing that he does wrong and then he has to redo it with a different approach. I liked the idea of how he was a city boy and still survived for two months in the forest alone with his hatchet.

My favorite quote from the book is:

“My name is Brian Robeson,” he said. Then he saw that his stew was done, the peach whip almost done, and he waved to it with his hand. “Would you like something to eat?”

The person who told me about this book liked it very much, so I gave it a shot. I recommend this book if you like a little action and fiction. If you can get Hatchet please give it a try. I think the reading level for this book is around fourth grade to seventh grade.

Spider Story

The spider is red with black and white dots. It is about as long as two pennies. It’s about 3 inches wide and 3 inches tall including the legs.

It has a flat, hard back and a fuzzy tummy. He has four fangs, two on the top and two on the bottom. The top ones are poisonous and the bottom ones are sharp.

If the legs break or fall off, then the legs will grow back.

One day, when the spider was about to go into a house to build his first web, a stray cat ate him. But, the spider was still alive.

The spider felt sad because he did not build a web. Then, he built his first web in the cat. The cat did not like this web in his body. So, the cat spat him out in her hair ball.

When he found a house to build a web and find a mate, the people were not home. He thought, “This is a great house because nobody is here to bother me.” But, he also thought he might not find a mate.

The next day, he built a web the size of a grown human’s hand!

There she was… a lady spider…the best one around. She had bright blue eyes and a white body like fluffy snow. She was the one. Of course, she was going to be hard to get. So, the male spider built one huge web the size of two human hands!

The female spider loved him. She laid 1,000 eggs! They lived happily ever after with 200 spider lings.

Hello friends and other people. I would like to ask you people out there "What is your favorite game that is old?" Mine are Pacman and chess.
